My Thoughts:
Iris Brown was a
single mother for three years. The father of her child Paola didn’t know she
existed. When he discovered he had a daughter and insisted on inserting himself
into her life, there was nothing Iris could do, because Sergio Batista-Sanchez
was rich and powerful. Fortunately he allowed Iris to accompany them at all
times so she never had to be separated from her daughter.
I loved this story.
I was all set to think one way about certain characters because of what I had
read about them as seen through the eyes of other characters. But as in real
life, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Nor should you jump to conclusions.
I really enjoyed the
settings in His Secret Daughter and
reading about them made me want to visit those countries for myself.
Iris had a lot to
learn and while it took her a long time to finally understand things, she did
eventually get it. While there were a number of twists and turns in the novel,
I had pretty much guessed the outcome long before the end of the book, but that
in no way interfered with my enjoyment of reading the book to get there.
I think Sergio
behaved the way he did because he was afraid Iris was going to keep Paola away
from him and Iris kept Paola away from him the first three years because she
was afraid that Sergio would take Paola away from her. They forgot one thing:
communication. Once they got that going, things were different.
I would be happy to
pick His Secret Daughter up and
reread it again just for the pleasure of reading it. I highly recommend it to
those who enjoy romance novels. I gave this book 5 stars out of 5.
Thank you to the
author for providing a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest
review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.
