Synopsis:

Acclaimed New York artist, Naomi Boyd, and music therapist, Keith Wilson, loved one another five years ago, until her grandfather separated them. That root of bitterness keeps them apart until a letter from Keith’s grandmother, Ruth, draws Naomi to Londonderry to find she’s too late. Ruth has passed on. After the death of his beloved grandmother, Keith has also come to Londonderry only to open the door to his past...Naomi...beautiful as ever, the girl who broke his heart.

A mysterious painting in Ruth’s attic brings up questions about their grandparents’ entwined past and their own broken romance. More comfortable with the unspoken languages of art and music, Naomi and Keith find it difficult to share their old hurts and true feelings. Will the majestic coastline of Northern Ireland inspire them to speak the words to bring peace to their grandparents’ memory and to rekindle love?

My Thoughts:

Londonderry Dreaming was a perfect example of why it is so important to keep the doors of communication open. Nonverbal communication is important and beautiful as evidenced in the

careers that the two main protagonists Naomi and Keith had – artist and music therapist, but it is only a beginning. Verbal communication adds so much more to a relationship and can head off a lot of misunderstanding and heartache.

This was a beautiful story about how that verbal communication can keep bitterness from taking root. How learning to communicate your thoughts and feelings can keep you from being controlled by others.

I loved how both Naomi grew in confidence and self-assurance in both her spiritual walk and her human relationships as she learned to verbalize her feelings to her Lord and those around her. I think that was the best part of the gift that Ruth gave to her.

I enjoyed the clean romance and the clean language in this novel. The beauty of the Irish setting added to the romance. I could hear the brogue in the speech of the Irish characters in the book. Ms. Lindsay created believable, loveable characters. I would’ve like to have known Ruth myself.

If you enjoy reading clean romance, you will definitely want to read Londonderry Dreaming. I gave it 5 stars out of 5.

Thank you to the author Christine Lindsay for providing a copy of the novel in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.
