Amazon Synopsis:

The first child was taken from her house.
The second from his mother's car.
The third from her own bedroom...

When Helen and Sean Philips go out for the evening, leaving their teenage daughter babysitting little Frankie, they have no idea that they are about to face every parent's greatest fear.

Detective Inspector Patrick Lennon is hopeful that the three children who have been abducted in this patch of south-west London will be returned safe and well. But when a body is found in a local park, Lennon realizes that time is running out—and that nothing in this case is as it seems...

Blending police procedural with psychological thriller, From the Cradle will have every parent checking that their children are safe in their beds...then checking again.

My Thoughts:

From the Cradle was a scary look at a missing child scenario. Parents will think twice before leaving their young children with a babysitter or in a locked car or even taking them to the park after reading this book. You never know where it can happen.

This book was full of twists and turns that had the reader guessing from start to finish. Was their one kidnapper or more than one? Were all the children murdered or not? What was the reason they were kidnapped in the first place. There were no ransom notes.

The pace of this thriller is fast and the tension is high throughout. It will keep you up at night just so you can finish it and find out who is behind this awful crime. The truth will surprise you.

Please note that there are adult themes in this novel and some scenes I would rate as Restricted, though there are few of those.

I found From the Cradle to be well-written, gripping and frighteningly real. I rated it 4 stars out of 5.

Thank you to the publishers via Netgalley for providing a copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion is not required. All thoughts are my own.
