Michael Glasscock is an
internationally recognized clinican, surgeon, educator and author. He was born
in Longview, Texas where he was raised for the first eight years of his life on
his grandfather’s cattle farm. At the beginning of World War II, he moved to a
small Tennessee town similar to the town of Round Rock in his “Round Rock
Series” novels.
Glasscock studied medicine
and became a doctor of Otology – Neurology. He practiced medicine in Nashville,
Tennessee where he was a clinical professor with Vanderbilt University. He
retired from active practice in 1997 and now works as a consultant for three
major medical device companies and has a limited practice in Otology at The
Glasscock Hearing Implant Center in Houston, Texas. He currently resides in
Austin Texas.
Michael Glassock founded the
American Journal of Otology, 1979 (currently Otology and Neurotology) and the
EAR Foundation 1971, Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Glasscock enjoys flying
helicopters, sailing and power boating, writing essays, short stories, and
novels.
