My Thoughts:

Ben the Beetle, Danny the Daddy-long-legs, Lady Bird Louise, and Darren the Dragonfly are all part of the Bug Club in Bugsville. These friends worked together to keep the town clean and tidy.

One day they notice a lot of litter lying about so they decided to follow it to find out who was leaving it about. As they went along they swept it up. They met up with some bugs that were new to town. They weren’t happy to find litter bugs throwing their litter all about.

They decided to teach the new bugs to put their rubbish in the bins. So they slowly went up to the new bugs and introduced themselves and told them they were the Bug Club. The new bugs introduced themselves as well and asked about the Bug Club. The new bugs wanted to join so Ben, Danny, Louise and Darren explained that everyone could join. All they had to do was pick up their rubbish and put it in the bin. Then together they went and did just that.

As with all Music Audio Stories this one was filled with music in the background as accompaniment to the dialogue. Litter Bugs even included a song about picking up the trash and keeping the streets tidy.

I liked the emphasis on everyone working together. I think this story would help any child at home or at school to learn (with guidance from parent or teacher) to have pride in the cleanliness of his/her community.

I love how the lessons in this story are so simple. Let’s work together and let’s keep our environment clean. There is only one note for North Americans. You might have to explain a couple of words to your children as the authors are British and use the British versions of the following words: garbage -- trash, rubbish and garbage can – bin.

I thoroughly enjoyed Litter Bugs and its excellent lessons that are taught in such a fun and simple way that children don’t even realize they are learning a lesson. I gave this story 5 stars out of 5.

Thank you to the authors for providing a copy of this story in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required.

About the Authors:

WHO WE ARE

Busy Bees Publishing

Adie Hardy and Anna-Christina are a powerhouse composing duo based in London.
Together, they set up and run Busy Bees Publishing producing original, fun and inspiring children’s audio books. Whilst working on their first audio story March of The Ants, they searched online for other audio stories similar to theirs, yet could find nobody combining original classical music with original children's stories and sound effects. They decided to invent their own genre and call their creations "Music Audio Stories".
