Amazon Synopsis:

Addie comes from a long line of readers, or "story catchers," as her family likes to call themselves. Every time Addie tries to catch a story on her own, though, the words play tricks on her. Addie tries everything she can think of to corral those wiggly letters, but it will take a little faith to become the next STORY CATCHER.

My Thoughts:

Addie is a little girl with difficulty reading who comes from a family of readers or “story catchers”.

I think this is a great story for children who are having difficulties reading. It may help them persevere and keep working at it. It will happen for them as it did for Addie.

I really liked the pictures in this story. They are colourful and imaginative. The pictures can give parents and children lots to talk about to create their own stories. For example, who might Mimi be and what might she do for a living (based on her clothing). I think this will be one of those books that are great for parents to read together with their children and for children to read on their own.

I thought Story Catchers was a unique and worthy book for children. I rated it 4 stars out of 5.

Thank you to the publishers for providing a copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.
