My Thoughts:
After the Wood Witch disappears with Darius, Raven joins
forces with the King’s Guard in order to hunt her down. Their group now
comprises 5 – Captain Jack Grant, two guardsmen, the reaper Monroe and Raven.
It is becoming more evident that Raven feels responsible for
her father’s death and will hold herself responsible for Darius’ life. Though
this mission started out as a redemption for one of the lives she had
previously taken, she feels she will have to redeem his life if he dies.
Grant is also very much enamoured of Raven’s skills as a
reaper, and I think as a woman as well. I believe there is potential here for
some romance. But they are enemies, so… that might be awkward.
The pacing and intensity of this episode is excellent. It
will keep you wanting to read until you get to the end and leave you wanting
more. It’s a good thing you’ll only have to wait a couple of weeks for the next
episode.
Do yourself a favour and grab a copy of this episode of Raven. You’ll be glad you did,
especially if you enjoy steampunk. I rated this episode 5 stars out of 5.
Thank you to the author for providing a copy in exchange for
a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are
my own.
About the Author:
In simple language, Pauline Creeden creates
worlds that are both familiar and strange, often pulling the veil between
dimensions. She becomes the main character in each of her stories, and because
she has ADD, she will get bored if she pretends to be one person for too
long.
Pauline is a horse trainer from Virginia, but writing is her therapy.
